In my wisdom, I bought 3 noise cancelling over the ear headsets for a family of 4. Rather than get a 4th, I thought that the bulkiness could be eliminated if I could use my noise-cancelling capable Pixel Buds Pro on flights where I needed noise cancelling. Some airlines have Bluetooth capability on the seatback screens, but many airlines do not.
AirFly is designed to plug into a standard headphone jack
and then broadcast the sound over Bluetooth that’s paired with a pair of
headphones. I’d used such adapters in the past, but they always required a
power adapter as well, whereas these provide themselves with 17 hours of power
after you charge them up with a USB C charger, which would last even the
longest flight.
In use, these work very well, and I watched 2 movies on
recent fights with them with no issues. In fact, I ran out of movies I was
interested in watching before the batteries on my ear buds gave up or the
Airfly gave up.
You have to be realistic. When one of my sons stopped using
the Sony XM2000 I switched to those and those are still much better. But for
the price and lack of bulk these are great.
