The Magician's Land is the third and final book of The Magicians trilogy. Following directly from The Magician King, the book starts with Quentin drawn into a heist. The heist, of course, goes horribly wrong, and in the mean time, in Fillory, the earthborn royalty discovers that Fillory is dying.
By the time everything weaves together, we get a reveal from Rupert Chatwin, and Quentin successfully resurrects Alice (I'd forgotten about this from the first read --- and the scene is faithfully replicated in the TV show as well), and discovers the secret to rejuvenating Fillory.
The writing style is just as bad as ever for the series, but for a change the plot doesn't suck, and a large part of the book is actually coherent, being in Rupert Chatwin's voice instead of Lev Grossman's omniscient 3rd party.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than the other two. I don't think the series will ever become a classic fantasy series, but it's quirky enough to deserve your time.
